چکیده

A series of quasi-static and dynamic uniaxial compression experiments over a wide range temperatures were conducted on polyurea elastomer. The stress-strain response exhibits extreme nonlinearity, temperature strain-rate sensitivity. How to comprehensively describe these complex behaviors regulated by the unique micro-structure is still an open question. In this paper, nonlinear viscoelastic constitutive model for developed. viscoelasticity, entropic energetic elasticity are taken into account, correlated with interaction chain segments, stretch molecular chains covalent bonds from perspective structure. formulated hereditary integral relaxation modulus strain rate time. real time accelerated shift factor, which depends free volume. new mechanism shear-induced increase volume, gives rise nonlinearity proposed, corresponding rate-dependent evolution equation fractional volume Parameters in determined through DMA test. Comparison experimental data, as well data references, verifies ability predict rates. • Quasi-static temperatures. proposed. based established polyurea. predicts

Finite Strain Behavior of Polyurea for a Wide Range of Strain Rates

Polyurea is a special type of elastomer that features fast setting time as well as good chemical and fire resistance. It has also good mechanical properties such as its high toughness-to-density ratio and high strain rate-sensitivity, so its application is recently extended to structural purpose to form sandwich-type or multi-layered plates. Those structures can be used for retrofitting of mili...

Flow stress of Nitronic-50 stainless steel over a wide range of strain rates and temperatures

To understand and model the thermomechanical response of Nitronic-50 stainless steel, uniaxial compression tests are performed on cylindrical samples, using an Instron servohydraulic testing machine and an enhanced Hopkinson technique. True strains exceeding 60% are achieved in these tests, over the range of strain rates from 0.001/s to 8000/s, and at initial temperatures from 77 K to 1000 K. T...

Large Strain Mechanical Behavior of HSLA-100 Steel Over a Wide Range of Strain Rates

High-strength low alloy steels (HSLA) have been designed to replace high-yield (HY) strength steels in naval applications involving impact loading as the latter, which contain more carbon, require complicated welding processes. The critical role of HSLA-100 steel requires achieving an accurate understanding of its behavior under dynamic loading. Accordingly, in this paper, we experimentally inv...
